Preventative care is the key to a healthy smile. Your initial oral examination includes a cleaning, x-rays, oral cancer screening, periodontal probing, full mouth charting, fluoride treatment, diagnosis, full examination by the doctor, and treatment recommendations. X-Rays include four bitewing films and a panoramic or full mouth x-ray series to ensure proper diagnosis. Each patient is given home care instructions, including how to brush and floss properly, and any questions specific to each patient’s needs are answered.
Regular check-ups allow us to quickly diagnose a problem and treat it, as well as provide preventative maintenance. Each individual case will have different treatment recommendations and different results. Our office strives to explain each case, recommended treatment, and results to the best of our ability.
In the event a treatment plan is recommended and operative treatment is necessary, let Dr. Martin and our caring, knowledgeable team renew your oral health with modern restorative therapies. Dr. Martin will be happy to help you reclaim a natural-looking smile.
If you have damaged, decayed, or missing teeth, you are probably not living life to the fullest. Eating can be difficult and you probably hide your smile in public. Don't suffer another day. Our doctors will fill cavities with a tooth colored composite filling material or silver amalgam filling material. Greater tooth deterioration may be treated with porcelain crowns or onlays.
Broken or severely worn teeth will find new life with attractive, long-lasting crowns and bonded porcelain restorations. If you are missing teeth, we offer a variety of natural-looking replacement options, including dental implants, crowns, partials, bridgework, and dentures.
A crown completely caps or encircles a tooth or implant to provide structural integrity, protect it from further damage, and ensure the perfect bite. Made to blend seamlessly with your existing smile, a custom made crown will be the right size, color, and shape for your mouth. If your tooth does not need a full crown, but requires more restoration than a filling can provide, the doctor may suggest an inlay or onlay. Like crowns, inlays and onlays restore form and function to compromised teeth and are custom restorations.
Crowns, Inlays, Onlays
We perform root canals on anterior, pre-molar, and molar teeth. However, in some cases, we will provide a referral to an endodontic specialist.
Periodontal disease affects many people. Periodontal disease is not painful; therefore, many individuals do not know they have it. If caught early, there are non-surgical therapies that can be used to treat and maintain periodontal disease. Studies have shown untreated periodontal disease can be linked to cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and low birth weight babies. Our registered dental hygienists will perform a full periodontal disease assessment each time you have your teeth cleaned. If you need surgical therapy, we will be happy to refer you to a periodontal specialist.
There is no reason to let missing teeth stop you from smiling. Dental implants are artificial tooth roots with a crown or denture placed over the top of the implant to resemble natural teeth. Implants can be used to support restorations on a single tooth, multiple teeth, or a full denture to transform your smile.
While our office does not place implants, we will place your implant abutment & crown when your implant site has healed.
A bridge replaces missing teeth by permanently joining adjacent teeth to restore your smile. A bridge not only fills the gap; but, prevents shifting of remaining teeth. It can also correct a misaligned bite, improve chewing function, speech articulation, and provide internal structure for the face to give a more youthful appearance.
TMJ syndrome is a condition that occurs when the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) that connects the upper and lower jaw is misaligned or stressed. TMJ treatment/therapy includes many options. The first step is to relieve the pain with the application of a mouth guard. The next step in TMJ treatment is to apply bite therapy principles and tools to analyze the cause of the misalignment or stress that is causing the problem. If necessary, a routine of jaw exercises will be created to eliminate the clenching or grinding contributing to stress on the lower jaw. Our office offers occlusal guards and NTI appliances to aid treatment. In severe cases, a referral may be necessary.
